I have a BS and MS in horticulture and teach it at a community college in California. I liked the reality of the Alaskan wilderness. One of only a few published accounts of the times, this one in exquisite detail.. They dig deeply within and share their naked fears and memories. Avery wise perspective on alcoholism, as dealt with or not by psychoanalysis. But after much junk food, 20 pounds came back. With some of the rangers in the book still active law enforcement professionals I think it is professional not to name them by name.

A great read and recommended for all.. His personal short comings gave him unique insight into many personality disorders, but those quirks eventually lead to his downfall..
