Jerry's account is a personal one, and like any other astronaut he talks about himself and his experience, but he also gives a good picture of conditions aboard and the tensions between crew members and ground control. Readers of JoAnne Blackwelder's memoir can readily sympathize, if not empathize, with her ambivalence toward a complicated marriage to a complex, albeit lovable and laudable, man. Linenger's book not only entertains, it increases our understanding of people in exotic and stressful environments. Read this book.. Vance and Dane are both strongly attracted to Ciara and Annie has taken an instant likeing to her. In so many segments, I felt like I was reading about myself.
