I love that it gives me (as an ex-pat parent) the opportunity to talk about Diwali in specific detail with my kids. Beck gives us a very personal look into the mind of the budding professional musician. It is quite an enjoyable read, and of course, historically correct. There are several life lessons learned in this book. What a concise, yet inspiring, introduction to those who laid the groundwork for jazz drumming. Taoist charms/talismans often comprise Chinese calligraphic characters and in addition, various symbols eg. A good senior staff can bring the rest of the company up to its level. It's such an honor to be allowed to know their thoughts.
