My 10-year-old asked if there are more in the series which is a great indicator of how much she enjoyed it.. It's an incredibly exciting time to be reading--or writing--and this book maps that course.. I still hate Xander, no surprise there. Color mixing and layering comes early on, but can't be called a strong section - it's a complex topic, and the many different ways to understand color just can't fit the space allocated.
Successive sections cover basic ways to define an image, develop a composition, and create structure. The character has many of the same "quirks" as my son and so he could relate. The projects are ones that I would like to make and use. I can't imagine a better quality for a writer to bring to a book exploring present-day relationships.
