Most people don't believe at love at first site Neither did Dream until she met Knight. He came into her life when she didn't know she needed someone. Teaching her all there was to know about love and life. For people on the outside looking in Knight was not the dude in the shiny armor that Dream thought he was. He was your usual hood dude with no substance but Dream knew better. Looking into his eyes were like looking into her own soul. They were one in the same. Things weren't always peaches and cream between the two. For every step forward, life sent them falling two steps back. Journey with Dream and Knight as they struggle to get it together and make it to the top. Who wants a perfect love story anyway?
The characters are well developed and nothing too scary happens in these mysteries. I was also a bit surprised by the rather muted palate, which does suggest the vagueness of dream. It is what it is.. I didn't predict one act in this story and that's rare. It is divide into four sections, each with its own introduction:
Part I: Measuring Our Predicament
Part II: Geopolitics
Part III: The Big Picture - False Solutions, Hopes and Fears
Part IV: After Oil
Like other books on the subject of 'peak oil' The Final Energy Crisis, (with engineering professor, Seppo Korpela and oil geophysicist Colin Campbell) does examine and test Hubbert's theory - for gas and coal as well as oil, but it goes well beyond just that.
It seriously examines (among other possibilities) nuclear fusion, nuclear fission, geothermal, terra preta/agrichar and the logistics of energy distribution in different social systems. Barr felt the need to write a long drawn out essa
